Rise of the Halflings Scenario: The Wyrmway Gate & Parapets

As the halflings’ wealth in Archanical fuel increased, so did their standing and bartering capabilities with the iron-mongering dwarves. Ever eager to appease their halfling allies to the South, much of their ancient stores of metals and quarried stone was tapped to provide for the rising city of Wollockshire. As the decades passed and the alliance flourished, so too did the craftsmanship of the dwarves. Though no halfling had ever given the gates to their mountain holdfasts and seen their fabled foundries, rumors grew of the advancements in mining and metalwork that had developed from the Archanical fuel – industrial wonders to rival the airships of Wollockshire.

The evidence of this could be seen in their most outstanding architectural achievement, known to halflings as the Wyrmway. This bastion of opulence was inset into the new curtain walls that had risen around the Archanical Compound, Its gates the greatest example of dwarven metalwork anywhere outside of their mountain halls. With its giant drakes standing sentinel on either side of a wrought gateway of a kingly figure commanding a dragon, some halflings felt this structure seemed more for fortification than decoration.

The Wyrmway gate and the Parapets that it intersects completely encapsulates the Archanical Compound, separating it from the township that surrounds it. It is patrolled by the troops of the Dragon Handlers with their Dragon Goads, watching for anyone trying to scale the walls and infiltrate the compound.
