The Wild Rivers are a set of 9 3D printable scatter terrain sections designed to create a diverse range of meandering rivers for tabletop wargames and roleplay games. the highly detailed sculpted banks are designed with a 2mm depth to allow water effects to be applied to the river beds, allowing you to choose how fast-flowing you wish your river to be. The rivers pair well with both the Gloomy Gully’s and Fey Marshes, and the Forest Cart Tracks work well alongside the Ford section.

Are the pieces compatible with your other rivers pieces?
    https://www.printablescenery.com/product/the-3d-rivers/

    • Nicholas Jebson (verified owner)

Unfortunately not. the rivers were a very early model for us, with a minimal bank and no detail. The new rivers are much better designed for taking a resin-pour of water effects as well as having a fully sculpted bank.

  2. Jens Limbach (verified owner)

You are mentioning the “resin-pour of water” effect – could you please detail the idea and how to do this or at least highlight a suitable youtube video… This would be really cool! Thanks!

    • Matt Barker

This is a great idea. Nick is going to print a new piece and make a video to show you how he did it.

  3. David Aleshire (verified owner)

I absolutely LOVE these new rivers, they are so much more detailed than the old ones, i plan to print these and in combination with the long boat, have quite an adventure down the river in our next session, however, even though i can enlarge the rivers 200% to fit the longboat, a problem i am finding is that a lot of the pieces with rocks in the middle of the rivers make it impassable for any boat of any kind. Is it possible to release versions of these without the rocks in the middle of the water? for example on the long straight piece, and the wide river (i understand the purpose of rocks for the ford piece) but the corner pieces and the long and wide pieces would be nice to have versions without rocks so i could make them deep rushing rivers.

    • Mike (verified owner)

      Hi David!
That sounds like a great idea!
We will add it to our list of model updates and when it’s available, you should get an email notification 🙂

  4. David Hobson (verified owner)

How did you pour the resin? Did you tape the ends of the river or something similar?

    • Nicholas Jebson (verified owner)

We just poured in the center and teased it out to the edges with a brush, there was enough surface tension that it didn’t overflow the base. If you want a deeper pour you would have to tape the ends. We cover it in a little more detail in the Painting guide: Wild Rivers over in the Knowledgebase.

  5. grizpapa (verified owner)

Do any of these sections fit under the Arcanist’s Bridge?

It would be cool if you could make these work with the Bridge some how.
Either a section that’s narrow enough to fit under the “H” Bridge section or a section or the River the splits in the middle to fit under one or two “D” Sections.

    What do you guys think?

    • Nicholas Jebson (verified owner)

At the moment no, but it is an update that we are looking into. Whether we combine the 2 pieces so that they print as one or do a splitting river to accomodate the bridge.

  6. Chris Emmett (verified owner)

These are fantastic and print beautifully! If I mirror the S Section will it still line up?

    • Mike (verified owner)

Thanks Chris! Glad you like them!
It should still line up as long as you keep the dimensions the same 🙂

  7. Kheldras (verified owner)

    Great River!

  8. hedeon79 (verified owner)

Could you please make a version without bushes, shrubbery and large stones on the banks?

    • Mike (verified owner)

      Hi Hedeon,

We have these rivers which have less details. We have had requests to have the stones removed from the river beds, we can add your request to the model update too

  9. brianhayne123

Very nice, how long are the long straights?

    • Mike (Printable Scenery) (verified owner)

      Thanks Brian,

The straights are about 200mm in length

  10. Thomas Gallant (verified owner)

Love these, but is there any plans to make a bridge that fits or crosses properly?

    • Mike (Printable Scenery) (verified owner)

There isn’t currently but its something we can look at in the future

  11. hakiiahnig (verified owner)

Can we please get a bridge for this?

    • Matt Barker (verified owner)

Yes we should be able to adapt the Haggle thorn bridge to fit

  12. hakiiahnig (verified owner)

    Any news on that bridge?

  13. dtricardo (verified owner)

Are these compatible with OpenLock clips? If not is it possible to make them so?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Currently, they do not have an OpenLOCK version, but it is a great idea so I will add this to our list of possible updates.

  14. Thomas Stemplinger (verified owner)

    Hello!

I’m having trouble slicing the Wild-River-Wide-v1.0.stl file with Cura 5.2.1.

“Slicing failed with an unexpected error.”

Can you reproduce the issue and maybe fix the file?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Try turning it on the buildplate

  15. Thomas Stemplinger (verified owner)

Turning the model didn’t help. But after I upgraded Cura from 5.21 to 5.6.0 it worked perfectly well.

  16. rolf.arne (verified owner)

It’s great that you made a Winterdale Water Mill option, but it doesn’t really work. The only way the water wheel can fit is if you make a wheel that doesn’t have rims or spokes on the inner side. Like you can see in this picture:

Hi. Can you please send this picture to [email protected]
