The Grotto Floors set is designed to be used as scatter dungeon terrain for fantasy tabletop and role-playing games. It includes scatter terrain pieces that feature cavern floors of various sizes.  There are holes underneath each piece to fit 3mm diameter magnets. This pack is part of the Goblin Grotto Cavern tile system and is compatible with the Grotto Walls cavern set.

The walls and floors are versatile pieces that can be used in a variety of ways for different gaming styles. They can be used to create quick cavern crawls or outdoor wilderness encounters. They can be combined with negative spaces that can be filled with printed pictures or patterned table mats to give extra depth to an environment.

10 questions for Grotto Floors

  1. John Ware (verified owner)

What play mats do you use in those photos? Are they magnetic?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

Some are Tabletop War and Deepcut Studios as well as sets we’ve made.

  2. cullen.knappen (verified owner)

Can you make some of these in two parts as they do not fit on my Enders 3 print bed?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

Some models need to be rotated 15° anticlockwise on the buildplate to fit.

  3. E.groenheden (verified owner)

How big magnets are the holes made for?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

The magnet holes are 3mm in diameter.

  4. grezmundo (verified owner)

As per someone else above, I’m having issues getting E and F-pt1 to fit on the bed of my Ender 3. Is there any chance of getting these files split please?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

These files can be rotated to fit on Ender 3 bed. We’ve repositioned them and tested them on an Ender 3 bed so they will print without a brim or skirt. You can also shrink them by 5% and they will still work with the other Grotto floors..

  5. inquiz9 (verified owner)

Is there any way we could get the ‘E’ Floor and ‘F’ pt 1 Floor in 2 pieces?

  6. playtable (verified owner)

In regards to the 3mm magnet holes…
What is the use for the magnets?
Do you use a sheet metal plate to set up on?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

This was requested for a customer’s build, you can use sheet metal to stop them sliding around, but you don’t have to.

  7. EAA00 (verified owner)

Is it sort of a compliment that some of your sets look like they were the inspiration for some of the wizkids stuff? I was looking at the caverns set they sell and thinking these look really familiar. And now I remember why.

    • Jo Boorer

Yes, we have noticed this lol.

  8. jonchappellnow (verified owner)

I noticed on the two pieces that join together that there are little pockets in both tiles. Are these meant to be for pools or for adding stalactites? I”m not sure what they are there for.

    • Matt Barker

These can be left as they are or you can add water effects to them

  9. jonchappellnow (verified owner)

Thanks! I thought that maybe I had missed something.

  10. Marc Wilson

Hey, this is more just a general question in relation to the grotto floors. I take it that the grotto walls and the grotto tunnels all kind of work together fairly seamlessly? As in could I place one of these tiles down and then some of the walls surrounding it to make the space seem enclosed?

    • Sloane Dougherty

Hey yes they are built around a system of three different arc shapes and are designed to be pushed up against each other. Cheers
