Description

A humble dwelling boasts opulent views. Repairs over the years have left crow cottage with a motley roof of thatch and slate, yet the hearth is warm and the floorboards dry, an altogether pleasant addition to his majesty’s countryside.

Normandy is especially known for its well-preserved thatch cottages, or “thatchies,” as the locals call them. Thatched cottages and rural Normandy are synonymous, evoking images of lush green farms like the ones the Allies rolled through in the summer of 1944.

3 questions for Crow Cottage

  1. henrik johnsson (verified owner)

I just printed this with great result at 0.2 layer hight. There seems to be some missing connector pegs for the roof? The roof slides of very easy. I would also love a version where the outbuilding was optional.

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Thanks for your feedback. I will pass this on.

  2. rwsorden (verified owner)

The paint job on the roof is especially interesting – what paints were used?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Its Oak Brown dry brushed with mournfang brown, then XV-88, before being given a black wash and then a light black drybrush to finish.

  3. Gareth Ramsey (verified owner)

Hi. The small printer version appears to be missing some components, ie the sloping roof portion. Can you confirm?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

There should be 4 parts in your Small Printer folder. The Sloping roof part is attached to Lv1-A.
