Description
The tolling of the church bell was once a call to the masses to worship, where all from the city could gather, share news and receive blessings. Now, the tower stands silent, the only living things attending this once sanctified edifice are vermin and weeds. It’s a wonder it’s still standing.

Hello there. Cool model. An issue is that part D doesnt connect to the printer base in the slicer so it creates a spagetti monster. I had to lower it 1 mm to be able to print it. Dont know why though

I’m really enjoying this as my first big printing project! It’s an impressive and beautiful structure. However, I am having issues with the vertical belltower pieces not fitting together nicely. They do fit but its very tight and a little uneven. I’m definitely exerting more force to attach and detach the pieces from what I usually see in your videos. The prints are otherwise perfect.
I’m happy to sand down my printed parts until they fit, but is there anything I can do to fix this for future copies? I did rescale all prints to 104% of original size to make them a touch bigger, could this be the problem?

Some of the bricks’ small angles might need a little sanding for them to come off easily. When it’s a large piece like the bell tower, we tend to make them tight rather than loose, so they don’t collapse mid-game. The scaling might change it slightly but not by much.

Is it possible to make a version that fits on a prusa mini? (180mm max)

Hi Jeppz,
The largest dimension of a piece of it is 184mm. You could scale it to 96% and it would fit on a prusa mini. The piece in question (Piece A pt2) would be difficult to cut further without compromising the print.

May I ask for a upgrade for this model, a bell tower would have had a series of openings directly under the bel to be able to ring it from ground level with a rope, this would also give us the opportunity to add ladders from the Gangways and ladders set, making the tower MUCH more wargame friendly

I’m having a heck of a time getting the railings on Part H to print. I’ve tried dropping my speed as low as 25% to no avail. They keep breaking off about halfway up. Any tips?

Hi Jerry,
Do you have z-hop retraction enabled? That can help with printing thinner parts like that. Also just making sure your printer is on a steady surface that doesn’t wobble when the extruder moves.

Hi, I have some problems with the H file. the small pillars of the railing break everytime I print it. Do you have any suggestions what I could do to fix it?

You could try lowering the printer head speed and enabling retraction (if you haven’t already), often these kind of breaks occur if the printer head hits the narrow part during printing.

if so what settings did you use?
printed over eight times here. still all fails.
ender 3, cura 4.8, enabled retraction, z hop when retracted, 25mm print speed.
I even made the infill on the rails 85%, and tree supports.

Hi Paul,
Thats tough! Seems like your settings are fine though I’d recommend updating Cura to the latest version, it could make a slight difference, especially when generating supports.
To help diagnose the issue could you send some photos of the fails and your slicer settings through to [email protected] that’ll give us an idea of how best to help.

I have a printer that can do it size wise, but before I attempt the impossible I’m just checking if there’s a reason why I shouldn’t 🙂
