Description

Archanical Automaton:
When The Warlock bound his will to the Great Wyrm he joined with not only its Eternal lifeforce but the cosmic knowledge of the celestial being. Universal insight beyond the reckoning of mortal man was harnessed and put to use in the betterment of the Halfling’s lives and township, so the Warlock believed. There may be no better example of this advanced comprehension than that of the Archanical Automaton.
Like all the contraptions of Wollockshire, these lumbering giants of Archanical mastery were made within the city, the secrets of their make kept secret from the cunning Dwarves of the mountain who provided the raw components of their making. These machines gave unparalleled aid in the rebuilding of the city and the reshaping of Halfling’s hillock homestead.

Archanical Automaton Brawler:
Though originally designed for their use in construction, the uses of the Automaton seemed limitless to the crafty Gaffers who helped assemble and run them from their great Gaffer-Guild Workshops.
As the wealth of the resurrected city’s Archanical power grew, so too did the need to defend it, never again would the Halflings lose their lives and homes to an invading force. The earliest iteration of these feelings was manifested in the Automaton Brawler. The head casing was refitted with armored viewing ports and helm to better protect the controller within its barrel chest compartment operating the Morningstar fists to devastating effect.

Archanical Automaton Knight:
The success of the Brawler was soon followed with the more elegant reworking of the Automaton Knight. Requiring much more dexterity from its operator, Simple Gaffers could become city heroes within the armored safety of these giant guardians. With the simple Halfling short sword reimagined in the form of its colossal blade, its open undercarriage was easily defended by the wall sized shield it wielded.
These formidable contraptions would come to stand either side of the city’s Great Wyrm Gate, a truly daunting sight to any foolish enough to bring trouble to the City of Wollockshire.

Archanical Automaton Warlock:
It takes a lot to impress the cosmically wise Warlock of Wollockshire, yet in seeing the inventiveness of the Gaffers repurposing of the Archanical Automatons into war machines he saw the opportunity to increase the might and safety of his Warlock apprentices should they be needed on the battlefield.
Thus was born the highest achievement in the Archanical arts, The Automaton Warlock. With the Mages staff having been fitted from a repurposed Draconic Lamp easily enough, it was the Spell casting hand of the contraption that was its greatest feat of engineering. A Warlock’s spell casting ability is only as good as the gestures that correspond to the incantations, as such the free hand of the contraption was fitted with Archanical resonators to sync up with the spoken word of the controller which were amplified through the armored head casing, resulting in extreme magnification of even the simplest of spells.

3 questions for Archanical Automatons

  1. dweathin (verified owner)

Would it be possible to get the 4 x Automatons as Single Files? To print with PVA dissolvable material?

    • Mike (Printable Scenery)

      Hi Dweathin,

We will add your suggestion to our list of potential future model updates. If you would like to print them in PLA I would suggest trying one of the larger pieces (like the body) with supports and see how it prints.
They have been designed to be printed in resin but it can be worth a try

  2. dweathin (verified owner)

Mike – the Legs and Body printed out great in PLA – Ultimaker S3 – using 0.25 Print Core at 0.1mm Layer Height with PVA Support Material (dissolvable) – printing the Arms and Hands now –

  3. Steve M (verified owner)

Why is this still $19.95 when the bundle with three other models is only $19.00?

    • Joanne Boorer (verified owner)

Thanks for pointing that out. The bundle had the incorrect price.
