How to Drybrush Terrain

Here we cover the technique of drybrushing, one of the most common painting methods when painting 3d printed terrain. Often one of the first techniques hobbyists learn we’ve got a few tips and tricks that will hopefully improve your drybrushing!

Suitable for painting stone, wood, dirt, and many other textures. It is best done with a stiff-bristled brush or any brush that has lost its fine point. We advise you don’t use your nice brushes that would edge-highlight with, as drybrushing a rough technique.

The model in this video is the Giant Statue from the Shadowfey Kickstarter. He is painted with Army Painter paints and a Citadel Terrain Brush.
