Description
The sun sets behind the distant mountain range, bathing the ruined keep in a faintly warm light. The half-toppled towers and collapsed walls lay quiet. It had been a full day since the siege had ended, and the castle had been sacked, but dust still glimmered in the air as beams of light shot through the cavities in the walls. A rat scurries over the bricks and beams scattered on the floor and stops to gnaw a tattered piece of fabric but is started away by the rumble of debris. Slowly, stiffly, an armoured gauntlet rises from the pile, still clutching the ruined blade, Lion’s Claw. The King yet lived.
