Haunted Windmill

$14.95

Any sales taxes will be calculated in the checkout.

The 3D printed Haunted Windmill is an imposing terrain piece for RPGs and Wargames with a gothic horror setting. Separated into four levels and a roof with detachable wind vanes for ease of gameplay. Each floor is highly detailed with opening doors and enough room for multiple miniatures. It works well nestled in amongst the Shadowfey Ruins, or perched on a hill above the Shadowfey Wilds. Perfect for dark fantasy roleplays.

This product is part of the Shadowfey Ruins. Please log in if you backed the campaign.

This product is delivered as a .ZIP file pack containing STL files for use on a home 3D Printer.

Description

In the Shadowfey stands the dilapidated stones of the Haunted Windmill. Several stories tall and encrusted with filth, its stripped vanes still sway slightly in the non-existent wind. A dim glow can be seen from the inside, as a coven of night hags prepare their next meal.

8 questions for Haunted Windmill

  1. Jens Limbach

Hey, not sure if this is a valid question here. But do you have a very rough delivery date / week for this? I just can’t wait to have it 🙂

    • Nicholas Jebson

It is currently being modeled as we speak. Factoring in possible touch-ups that may be needed I would expect to see it being released within the next fortnight.

  2. Timothy Reese

Would love to add a vote for a “new” option for the windmill to the next KS. Love this model, would love some functional ones.

    • Mike

      Hi Timothy!

Thanks for your idea! A working windmill would make a great mini and something we can look at for a future Kickstarter.

The haunted windmill level 4 does not set flat on the printer bed on my Prusa slicer. I am unable to get the model to lay flat in order to print. Is this happening with anyone else? This is version Lv4 1.0

    • Mike

      Hi Leland,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ve flattened the bottom of level 4 and you should receive an email with the updated version soon!

Are there any plans for internal furnishings for this? It’s a great model, but the lack of a millstone for the inside is really disappointing.

    • Mike

      Hi Montgomery,

The model was initially released without internals so as not to interrupt gameplay but its certainly something we can look into for the future.
I’ll add it to our list of potential model updates. Thanks for your suggestion!

Hi, is there a peg that connects the Windmill Center A to the Building, i see a hole in both models that would seem would have a peg but i cant find one with the models, sorry if i missed something, Thanks

The second level is almost unprintable due to some of the details being so tiny at the bottom. When I sliced it, there are literally dots and tiny squiggles, which don’t adhere to the bed well. My work around was to slice off .20 in Prusaslicer and expand the whole section by .50mm in the XY axies.

If you could somehow reinforce those sections so they have a bigger footprint, it would be awesome.

PS., it is a FANTASTIC looking model! It is our first stop in our upcoming campaign and I’m very excited.

I’ve printed this and painted it for my Curse of Strahd game as a very accurate proxy of the Old Bonegrinder, and my players loved it! Thanks for the wealth of options on the site!

    • Matt Barker

      Awesome, thanks for the feeback

  8. Darren MacLennan (verified owner)

What do you do with the Haunted Windmill Vane E? Just leave it around as scatter terrain?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

      Hi.

Yes that is correct it is just scatter as shown in the Gallery pics.
