Firm footing can be hard to come by in the Gloaming Swamps, sturdy grassy gnolls such as these can offer the safest crossing through the marshes, as well as the best defensive position when overwhelmed by the territorial denizens who dwell there.

This is an interesting and very misleading model…
This appears to be a grassy knoll (noun. a small, rounded hill or eminence; hillock.)
A grassy gnoll would be a tall, hyena-link humanoid with some sort of fungal infection.
