Description

Having been tamed by creatures of the Gloaming, the great Fastcallion has been fortified with the scraps of ships it has wrecked in defense of its Fey realm. With every ship sunk the structure grew into a teetering hulk that hoards the plunder from the Gloamings would-be invaders.

8 questions for Fastcallion Expansion

  1. Sakura.j.lim (verified owner)

With the shop lvl 1 v 1.0, even on a large printer, how are you supposed to print with support for the lamps? Touching build plate still leaves more then 3/4ths of the lamp’s base layer printing in midair, and if you print with support “everywhere” the whole model is loaded with supports, meaning many other issues. is it possible to have lamps be printable separate from the rest of the model, as everything else should do fine with support to the build plate, and then attach the lamps after ?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

We printed Fastcallion-Shop-Lv1-FDM-Support-v1.3 located in the FDM Support folder. Printed with a brim on and had no issues.

  2. Sakura.j.lim (verified owner)

Ah ok i thought they were resin support mislabeled as FDM, thank you for that @Jo.

  3. Matthew Wigdahl (verified owner)

I have run the supported Lvl1 twice now and it is failing at the lamps. The 2nd time I tried I dialed it back to 80% speed and used a different machine to test variables. They need more support. Incredible model! Those lanterns are just a complex detail. I think I might just print them separately and glue them on.

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Thanks for letting me know. Can you please let me know if you had a brim on or raft?

  4. Matthew Wigdahl (verified owner)

I used a brim. It did not seem like bed adhesion or lower layers were the problem. In fact the entire part is quite usable – it is just the supports and the lanterns failed. Could be printing at .02 with 10% infill was an issue, though the supports fill completely. I (digitally) cut the lanterns off and printed them separately to glue on. I just finished printing the shop lvl2 pt 2 as well with supports (PS supports file I mean) and had some trouble with the lanterns as well. Those chains are just so delicate. Super cool model, stoked to start painting!

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

      Thanks for your information.
I have requested the modeler to create an option with the lanterns separately.
I will be in touch once this is available for you to test print on your printer.

    I think instructions are unclear.

Ok, first you need to buy this, and Fastcallion Crawling in order to print this. So currently this model is at $29,9

Then, Do not print the legs that comes with the Fastcallion Crawling, instead print the legs that´s in the Fastcallion Fort directory, so the turtle stands level.

Now on Fastcallion Shop, LVL 2, you have two options to chose from in “Pt1”. Regardless they seem to have installed Fastcallion-Shop-Lv2-Pt2 incorrectly in the painted pictures above (the green 3d picture is correct). The lvl 2 lights should be higher up as indicated by the small holes in the models insert filament as guides.

Now you would think that these would be installed on Fastcallion-Shop-Lv2:
    Fastcallion-Shop-Lv2-Side-Platform-A-v1.0
    Fastcallion-Shop-Lv2-Side-Platform-B-v1.0
    As they are labled Lv2
That does not seem to be the case, instead you need to print
2x Fastcallion-Shop-Support-Structure-v1.0 and then glue them to the side of
Fastcallion-Shop-Lv1-v1.0, there are small notches where they go. Then you put the platforms on top of the support structure.

Take a look 12 sec in to the video and you get a glimps.

would be nice if holes for magnets on the turtles back where an option.

    Amazing model!

Thanks redbjork for the clarification. Amazing model indeed, but I’d like to see all necessary parts included in the set, so that we don’t have to buy two models at 29.90 to be able to print this.

  7. Ross (verified owner)

I should know by now not to buy stuff when on a night shift! Totally missed the fact the Fastcallion did not come as part of this bundle!

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

We still have late pledges available for the whole Kickstarter. If you are interested in purchasing this pledge I can send you a credit note for the items you have already purchased from this.

  8. Ross (verified owner)

Sure, Which one are your referring too or does it matter?
The Gloaming Swamps and Wilderness Late Pledge or Gloaming Swamps Late Pledge?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

      Either of those.
