(1 customer review)

The Desert Shanty is a building designed for use in tabletop or role-playing games in a post apocalypse or sci-fi setting. Featuring hinged doors, multiple stories and removable roofs,  it prints without supports.

A small piece of filament or wire can be used as a hinge pin to attach the door to the doorway.

This can be scaled to print for Gaslands at 70%.

1 question for Desert Shanty

  1. JordanPeacock

Fun ramshackle shack with pretty solid construction that prints out nicely in FDM, with minimal cleanup required. The connection pegs are nicely placed so that it’s very clear which way parts fit on to assemble and stack up the structure. It has enough detail to look decent for the table with some basic wash-and-drybrush techniques with the opportunity to really expand upon it if I’m willing to do some more detail work. While this is theoretically the sort of “scrappy” wasteland building that in theory I could build with miscellaneous bits, this structure really justifies printing it out by providing me with something with so many interesting “greebles” but the advantage of being fairly solid and cohesive. Disassembled, the parts fit neatly into about half of a 12″x12″ scrapbooking box (with room to put in some foam lining, and some more props or another small building) for easy storage/transport. Overall, this strikes a great balance between a model that looks nice once assembled, and also being practical for actual game-play.
