ParticipantI have a Monoprice Mini — it’s a great little machine and it’s been the perfect starter printer for me. The print bed is 100mm x 100mm x 100mm. So when printing, say, the Black Ship mid-ship it exceeds my dimensions. Now, I may just shrink these down because I subscribe to the Major General Rederring’s theory of “keep it smaller so that you can put more on the table.”
But if I did want to print full-size, any advice on how to go about splitting the model? Part 1 — just do a straight split. Part 2 — reverse-engineer the STL to a STEP so that I can pull it into my modeling program, split it and then add posts to re-assemble it.
Best,
