These terms of use govern how you can access and use:
- Our site and services; and
- Our STL files.
We permit our customers to use validly purchased STL files for their personal, non-commercial use only, in accordance with the provisions of these terms. Customers that wish to use our STL files for commercial reasons must apply to become a licensed printer.
- These terms are our agreement with you
By accessing or using our site (https://www.printablescenery.com/), and/or services, and/or STL files, you agree to be bound by these terms of use.
Please read these terms carefully. They form a binding contract between you (the person or entity using our site, services, or STL files) and us.
If you do not agree to our terms of use, you must immediately stop using our site.
- Changes we may make to these terms of use
We may update these terms of use from time to time. When we do this, we will publish a revised version on the site, or notify you by email.
The updated terms will apply to any future use by you of our site, or any future purchases you make from us.
However, the updated terms will not apply to any purchases you have already made (prior purchases). Prior purchases will be governed by the terms of use agreed at the time of purchase.
- Changes we may make to the site, STL files, and services
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue at any time all or part of the site, STL files, or services at any time, with or without notice to you. If we take any of these actions, you agree that we will have no liability to you.
Such changes will not affect any STL files you have already purchased, which you may continue to use in accordance with your STL licence (defined below).

- We grant you a limited licence to view our website
We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to view our site, solely for your personal, non-commercial use (the site licence).
- We grant you a limited non-commercial licence to use the STL files you purchase from us
We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, perpetual, non-sublicensable, licence to (a) use the STL files you validly purchase for your personal, non-commercial 3D printing, and (b) use any resulting 3D printed model for your personal, non-commercial use (the STL licence). No STL licence is granted until you have paid us in full for the relevant STL file.
- Limitations to your licences:
The licences described above do not give you any right, title, or interest, other than as described above. You must not, without first obtaining our express written permission:
- Use the STL files or site for any commercial reason whatsoever. A commercial use license may be granted on a case-by-case basis. please apply here (https://www.printablescenery.com/helpdesk/) for a commercial license.
- License, sell, rent, lease, transfer, assign, disseminate, distribute, host, or otherwise commercially exploit the STL files or the site.
- Reproduce, retransmit, modify, make derivative works of, disassemble, reverse compile or reverse engineer the STL Files or any part of the site.
- Access the Site or Services or STL files in order to build a similar or competitive service.
- Remove or alter any copyright and other proprietary notices on the site or STL files.
- Except as expressly stated in these terms of use, copy, print, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, post or transmit in any form or by any means the STL files or any part of the site.
- We retain ownership of all rights to the site and STL files:
You agree that you have no ownership or other property interest in our site or in the STL files.
The provision of the site and STL files does not transfer to you or any third party any rights, title or interest in or to such intellectual property rights. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these terms of use.
All intellectual property rights underlying our site and STL files, including copyrights, patents, trade marks, and trade secrets, will vest or remain vested in us or our licensors.
If for any reason the rights, title, and interest in the STL files you purchase do not automatically vest in us, then you hereby assign to us absolutely all of the current and future rights, title and interest that you have in such STL files. You agree that this clause operates as an assignment of copyright for the purposes of section 114 of the Copyright Act 1994.
- Payment terms
By ordering any service or STL file through us, you agree to the pay the applicable advertised price. You authorise us to make such charges to your nominated credit card immediately upon the order being made.
You must:
- not pay, or attempt to pay, any fees due to us by fraudulent or unlawful means.
- If you make payment by debit or credit card, ensure that you are authorised card holder.
- If payment is made by direct debit, authorise our nominated third-party payment processor to debit your bank account, and you confirm that you are either the holder or an authorised signatory of that bank account.
You are responsible for paying any levies or taxes associated with your use of our services and STL files, for example sales taxes, value-added taxes or withholding taxes (unless we are required by law to collect these on your behalf).
- We exclude certain warranties.
Nothing in these terms of use are intended to exclude any non-excludable rights you may be entitled to at law, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
To the extent permitted by law:
- We do not provide any express guarantees, conditions, or warranties in relation to our site or to our STL files, other than those expressly set out in these terms.
- Any implied condition or warranty that might arise under Part 3 of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017) is excluded.
- We will have no obligation to provide you with any support or maintenance in connection with the site or STL files.
- The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these terms of use, nor to any of your orders.
- Interruptions and errors
We do not guarantee that our site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Your access and use of the site is done at your own risk. You accept responsibility for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from accessing or using our site.
- Our liability to you is limited
Some laws contain non-excludable guarantees and rights. The New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 allows the recovery of reasonably foreseeable damages in certain circumstances. These terms of use do not in any way exclude or restrict any non-excludable rights you may have.
To the extent permitted by law:
- We will not be liable to you for any indirect, special, or consequential damage or loss (including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of savings, and loss or corruption of information) however arising in relation to your access or use of the Site or STL files.
- Our liability to you is limited to the total of any amounts you have actually paid to us.
- Where you are using our site for free, and have not paid us anything, then we will not be liable to you for any damage (whether direct or indirect) that you suffer in connection with the site, services.
- A party’s liability for any liability under these Terms of Use will be reduced proportionately to the extent the relevant liability was caused or contributed to by the actions (or inactions) of the other party, including any failure by the other party to reasonably mitigate its losses.
- Refunds and remedies
We are not obligated to give you a refund if you change your mind.
However, we may choose, at our sole discretion, to offer you a “change of mind” refund where:
- You have purchased STL files but have not yet downloaded them; and
- You have requested a refund from us within seven days of the purchase.
If any product you purchase from us is found to be faulty due to no fault of yours, we will provide you with a refund. If required by law, we will provide you with other remedies.
Our team may also offer suggestions for optimizing your 3D printer settings to enhance the printing experience. However, we are not responsible for compatibility issues that arise due to customers’ individual 3D printing setups, software versions, or hardware limitations.
- Where to get help
If you encounter difficulties opening or printing the STL files that you purchase, please contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible.
- Marketing emails
When you first make a purchase with us, we will send an email to you to ask you if you wish to opt-in to receive file update notifications and marketing offers. If you opt-in to receiving such materials, you may opt-out at any time.
- Disputes
You agree to contact us at first instance with any complaints or concerns relating to our site or STL files. You will use reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute with us at first instance. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interlocutory relief.
- Governing Law
These terms of use are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Each Party irrevocably and unconditionally submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts operating in New Zealand.
- Unenforceability
If any part of these terms are determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the terms shall continue in effect.
- Assignment
You will not assign or transfer your responsibilities or obligations under these terms of use, without our prior written consent, which we may withhold for any reason. We may assign these terms, in whole or in part, at any time.
If we ever refrain from enforcing a provision of these terms, or give you extra time or other leeway to comply, this does not mean we have waived that provision or given up our rights to enforce that provision, or any other provision.
- Force majeure
We will not be liable to you for any breach or failure to perform any of our obligations under these terms where the cause of this breach or failure is beyond our reasonable control, whether or not foreseeable by either party, including (without limitation) denial of service attack, internet outages, accident, adverse weather, inability to secure transportation, governmental act or regulation, third party acts or omissions and other causes or events.
