Most famous in Northern France, Bocage are hedgerows used to divide pastureland; they are made of small trees and bushes. During WWII, they were effectively used to conceal troops and armored vehicles. In the cold of winter, leaves die and fall, revealing the stone bedrock that has laid there for centuries
