The OpenLOCK Hex Layout Roads comes in a variety of sections, which fit easily into a hex grid. This allows the road to easily tessellate across the battlefield.
This product is delivered as a .ZIP file pack containing STL files for use on a home 3D Printer. The files are set to 28mm scale but can be rescaled before printing.

Is this set compatible with the roads found in the “Roads and Telegraph Poles” set?

No this is a separate System. However, it uses the same road pattern.

Hi, In terms of the question asked above, there are no T or Cross road sections in this set. In the Roads and Telegraphs there are but they are not OpenLock and are not compatible (re. not the same thickness). Is there a way around this or are basic T and Cross sections planned to be added to this set?

Yes we have only made the Hex versions at this stage, I can make OpenLOCK versions of the other sections also

Ok thanks. I am about to commit to printing a large batch of road pieces and am trying to decide which set is the most flexible… i like the openhex because of the ability to snap together, but without the T or Cross sections it is going to be a challenge for planning layouts. I do get that these are for hex patterns though. Well, I think I will have to use the roads and telephone pole set as it gives me the most design options. Thanks.

Hey John, very much not long forgotten. If you look in the hex layout roads folder there will be a sub-folder marked ‘Extra OpenLOCK Roads’, both the T intersection and the X intersections can be found inside there.

Really liking this set of roads. There are additional pieces not shown in the pictures that really add to the variety. One thing I have changed is to print them with the thickness set to 50% makes them much thinner. So far that hasn’t caused any issues. I also printed the clips thinner to match.
