This product is delivered as a .ZIP file pack containing STL files for use on a home 3D Printer. The files are set to 28mm scale but can be rescaled before printing.

Description

Throughout the fire plane can be found pools of burbling lava, molten flows and cavernous walls. But high above these float islands of igneous rock, from which magical lava spills into the lakes that spawn the fire elementals.

10 questions for Hellspike

  1. irishology

Hey Guys, What happened to the Hellspike with the chains that was awesome?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

It is in the Legacy folder in the Product zip when you download.

  2. car_tag (verified owner)

Would it be possible to please get the tops have a “short printer” option, where they are cut in half horizontally, with tabs to align? My printer is about an inch too short to be able to print it and would rather only having to print two things than eight. Thanks in advance for any response!

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

There is a small printer option.

  3. jgoahl

” Requires supports on some files”

Knowing which files need supports would be useful to include!

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

The chain parts of the Legacy files.

  4. Zoltan (verified owner)

Can I second the ‘short printer’ option for the top? The 220mm height is about 10mm over my printer’s limit and I don’t fancy printing 8 separate ‘small printer’ parts…

    • Matt Barker

If you scale it down slightly it will fit and it will still print well. It’s not scale relevant.

  5. dany.laberge (verified owner)

The question is more about why the lava top doesn’t print as is on a Prusa MK3, is it not your reference printer? Scaling it down is an option, but also means we have to scale down all other parts

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

You can scale down the Z-Axis only by 10mm and it will fit Prusa print bed.

  6. Stephan Ziemke (verified owner)

This is not a question but an answer to point 2 and 5: Use slic3r as your slicer. It has an cut-option to cut the piece in half horizontically and it fits the prusa bed. You can export the printbed as an stl file. Sams suggestion will also work and is easier.

  7. mnsbuscription (verified owner)

If it can help, for the 3rd question, I print my chains perfectly without support with a I3 Mega.

For the Hellspike with the chains, i just printed 2 chain and 4 parts of Hellspike and
I wonder about the ability of the chain to hold the Hellspike. Do you have any advice? (Infill?, support crafting?)

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

100% infill and align print parallel with z motor and print with supports touching buildplate.

  8. cmb.efm (verified owner)

Is there any way to get different lengths of chain ie: make a chain with two links removed, make a chain with four links removed and make a chain with two links added. That way the each hellspike can be different hight?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

It’s a good suggestion, I’ll add it to our suggestion list.

  9. aaron.aycock117

What is the height of the hellspike after you but it together?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

Overall height is 40cm once fully assembled.

  10. jeff.mancini (verified owner)

Is there supposed to be a clip for the rectangular slot to attach the tube to the base? Is it a standard openlock clip?

    • Nicholas Jebson

yes it should be an OpenLOCK clip that fits into the slots there
