In the far future the mass transportation of liquids is still a necessity on many worlds, be it fuel, water or chemicals. The sculpted skulls on Gothic pipeline’s supports, add emphasis to the grim nature of the business.

The Gothic Pipeline contains all the connecting pieces to create a vast Gothic Sci-Fi pipeline network. The pack only contains the connecting parts and the actual lengths of the pipe will need to be supplied separately.  The pieces are scaled to 28mm to fit 36mm OD PVC Pipe. However, you can scale to any size. 35mm pipe will fit just inside the studs for the pipe flange.

This product is part of the APOC Sci-Fi. Please log in if you backed the campaign.

This product is delivered as a .ZIP file pack containing STL files for use on a home 3D Printer. The files are set to 28mm scale but can be rescaled before printing.

5 questions for Gothic Pipeline

  1. Lee (verified owner)

Are you sure the end cap prints without supports, I’m not seeing that?

    • Matthew Barker

I printed it without supports, but you should switch supports touching build plate on the end cap

  2. Rob

Can I ask where you obtained your 35mm PVC pipe? I searched a couple of my local DYI stores and have had zero luck.

    • Matthew Barker

Any plumbing store will have loads of it. It’s the same pipe you use under the sink in the kitchen.

  3. Jason Graf (verified owner)

Matt; I hate to say I’m running into a similar problem with locating 35mm OD PVC Pipe. I’ve even tried supplying from UK companies that would work in MM primary and none seem to supply this. All kitchen plumbing tends to be 1″, 32mm OD pipe, and none of the imperial or metric pvc sizing charts I’ve located even illustrate that 35mm OD PVC Pipe is a thing… They all show 1″/33.6mm or 1 1/4″/42.2mm in imperial charts, and 32mm or 40mm in metric stores.

Can you point us to an online store that supplies this? UK or US? Printing pipe seems like a waste of plastic! 🙂

  4. Rob Prince (verified owner)

Couple of things for you regarding this set.

For your US customers, the pipe size they need to use “standard 40, 1.25 inch’ pvc pipe. That’s the closest that we can get to fit. Having said that, to use this size pipe, you need to scale it about 105% to make it fit properly.

Also, is there any chance that you could remove the rivets that are on the inside of the pipe connectors? Though I can see the use of them, it makes it a pain to try and sand them off.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

    • Matt Barker

Thanks for the heads up on that, I’ll make a mod that has the rivets removed

    • Rex Foot (verified owner)

We updated the file to include a version without the rivets.

  5. David Aleshire (verified owner)

I absolutely love these, I had no problem finding the right pipe size once Matt responded with conversation and a bit of scaling, but my big issue is that I cannot for the life of me cut the pipe straight. I got a good pipe cutter and it’s still always crooked at the edge. Any chance of getting pipe models added to this pack so I can just print the tubes?

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

We will defiantly look at doing this in a future update.
