The ruins of Ithillia lie deep in the Gloomwood, a labyrinthine warren of overgrown stone and wood. With the kind of patience only found in nature, the ancient forest seeks slowly to reclaim the ruins the elves have long forgotten.

8 questions for Elven Groves

  1. jeff.mancini (verified owner)

Can all of these models be printed without supports?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

Yes, these models print without supports.

  2. swhite747325 (verified owner)

I’m looking at ElvenScatterGroves-Ruin-Wall-150mm in a slicer and there are all sorts of places that would start in mid-air without support. Is that just considered acceptable loss or should some of these models really use supports?

    • Matt Barker

They will print fine without supports. there is a small amount of stringing in some places but nothing noticeable

  3. scottcannaday (verified owner)

Any chance we could get a 50mm wall without a tree? Similar to the Connector L… this would allow a quicker turn around from print to paint time as painting the tree is time consuming.

    • Matt Barker

We are making a big expansion for the elven walls in our next Kickstarter as they have been very popular. I’ll make sure we also include some treeless versions.

  4. treykane

Is there still a plan to expand this set?

I’ve recently become very taken with the idea of not using tiles at all in most cases and instead just using a gridded mat, or just nice texture. A variety of freestanding walls just seems like a simpler more effective use of the printer, and terrain on the gaming table.

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

We have no plans to expand this set of Elven Groves, but if you have any suggestions we’d be happy to hear them. We are releasing similar wall sets in different themes though.

I was thinking once I held the 75mm scatter block, in my hand after printing to see how it came out. Wouldn’t it be good if the stairs and banister, had seperate model files. So I could add them to things here and there. Even to things I might make by hand etc to kind of tie things together.

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

A good suggestion, we’ll add it into the ideas for development.

  6. cameron.rivenbark

Printing the Scatter Groves Connector “O” has been about 40% successfull. Always gets knocked off, expecially when grouped together. None of the other files seem to.

You may want to post an update on the page to print with a BRIM or SKIRT

    • Nicholas Jebson

Hey Cameron, this sounds more like an adhesion problem more than anything else, but a raft or brim would help a little bit.

  7. shane.williamson032 (verified owner)

Fantastic set. Love the design and would love to see more. I do wish there were more wall endings that just the connector-0 piece for a bit more variety. Confused whether the set will be expanded or not. In the Q&As in response to a question on Matt Barker said there was a big expansion planned for the elven walls set in the next kickstarter due to their popularity, but then 6 months later in response to a different question Sam Campbell said there were no plans to expand the set.

      Hi Shane,

Thanks for your feedback! We have a list of model suggestions and updates that we work through to improve our models. I’ll add your suggestion to the update list.
More Elven terrain is still a potential for a future update as they are very popular, but we can’t say when it will happen. You’ll be sure to see it when it does!

Absolutely love this set. I’ve been printing it for a week straight and I’m about to start priming and painting it but I did want to ask if you could please share your painting scheme for this set. Would really appreciate it.
    Cheers!
