Any sales taxes will be calculated in the checkout.

The Dwarven Forge is a fantasy-styled building designed for use in role-playing or table top war games. Featuring hinged doors and a removable roof, it has plenty of room and allows for excellent miniature placement. We recommend printing the bellows and other small pieces with supports enabled.

This product is part of the ADD-ON Dwarves. Please log in if you backed the campaign.

This product is delivered as a .ZIP file pack containing STL files for use on a home 3D Printer. The files are set to 28mm scale but can be rescaled before printing.

7 questions for Dwarven Forge

I printed the Forge out at 100% but it seems to be too small to fit the piece of 1.75mm filament that is usually used for the doors on your models. Is there another method to hinge the door?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

Sometimes there is a bit of extra filament in the holes. I usually run a 2mm drill bit in a manual hobby drill through to make sure the filament fits.

  2. kev_leroux (verified owner)

It looks like it was shrinked after it was finished. The holes for the door are way too small for the filament (I understand drilling it but, really, it is way smaller than the standard hole), the door is very small, then again, way more than the standard doors and the forge itself barely fits a standard miniature in height.

It’s as if, after seeing how tall it was, the model was shrinked to accomodate smaller printers instead of separated in multiple parts.

We’re going to have a look at remodeling this product in the next few weeks after the current Kickstarter campaign has concluded. We will send out a notification when this is updated.

I’m currently printing this fantastic piece at 130% size. It’s coming out perfect aside for one issue: the hole to put the filament in for the door is still way too small. I can’t fit my filament through it (using e-sun pro gray pla).

We’re developing an update for the Dwarven Forge.

Which parts do you recommend supports for?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

      The smaller pipes and accessories.

Has this model been updated/ corrected yet?

    • Sam Campbell (verified owner)

This is yet to be updated and it’s in update queue at the moment.

    What exactly is updated?
does it help to upscale the building?

    • Nicholas Jebson

There had been a scaling issue between the rear building and the front. This is now fixed. If you do upscale make sure it is uniform scaling

Im new to 3d printing… do i need supports for the main building? would it just collapse if i didnt?

or can i just print it with no supports?

    • Mike (Printable Scenery)

      Hi Adam,

I’d suggest selecting “supports touching buildplate” for the bellows, pipes 1 & 2 and the hook. Because they’re fairly small pieces it shouldn’t add too much to your print time.
You’d probably find there would be an excess of stringing and the print would potentially fail without supports on those pieces.
      Hope that helps!
