Description

In readiness for Winter’s approach, the rooms of the castle bustle with servants alternately scrubbing the solid flagstone floors with scented lye soap, or laying fresh rushes and herbs where the floors have already dried. All the while, the word is hurriedly passed from ear to ear “The King approaches – be hasty!”

9 questions for Castle Floors

  1. John Schmidt (verified owner)

Is there a hatch way tile that goes with the 8 inch tower? One that corresponds with the V-TRP Castle Floor v1.0?

    • Rex Foot

Would the “V” tile in this pack be what you are looking for?

  2. John Schmidt (verified owner)

Just downloaded it there is no V tile with a Hatch in that pack.

    • Matt Barker

Sorry, no there is no V tile with a hatch, I’ll have to make one.

  3. Matt Barker

Rex, the V tile has no hatch in this pack. We could make one though

Do I have to re-scale W-TRP- floor to fit the curve of X-TRP-walls ? it dosent seem to line up right

    • Sam Campbell

X and W have the same interior curce diameter and both fit on the outside of a V. We’re currently developing a piece that fits on the outside of an X to make a square.

  5. christianaahauge

So in the pictures it shows the print speed at 90, is that really how fast you print these tiles?

    • Sam Campbell

We recommend printing at the speed that works well for your printer. These pictures are only for size reference on a slicer.

I could be looking at these wrong but why do the F tiles and tiletypes not sync with the rest of the flooring? In the rest of the sets the pattern makes sense but in the Castle set it starts with a half piece that can’t really connect with anything and its at a strange angle that won’t sync up with regular square tiles. I have printed a couple of these and I can’t figure out how to make it line up with my castle grid. For instance the rustic stone floor F pieces patterns are angled to match with the rest of the floor. Maybe if not changing it can you create alternate pieces with the pattern that matches your other flooring types and will line up with the other castle floors?

    • Mike

      Hi Deloriankah,
At first, I thought you meant the actual OpenLOCK pieces weren’t lining up! When I loaded up the STLs I see what you mean about the texture of the tiles not lining up.
We can certainly look at a slight re-design of the floor pieces so the pattern lines up more. Naturally, with curved sections there are always going to be some half-pieces but they could be more to the side.
      Thanks!

    Hey Mike,
Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I (amateurly) created an stl for the alternate piece F tile, which I can happily share but I don’t want to cross any lines.

This is what I mean to be clear:

Thanks for sharing your idea! That is exactly the same thing I was thinking which I’ve put in for an update with our designers. Keep your one for yourself for now and because you’ve purchased the product when we do the update you’ll get an email letting you know šŸ™‚

      Thanks again!

Is there a small “inner” piece corresponding to the FN size that, when inserted, would make a full F piece shape? I’m building towers with tight spiral stairs and would love to leave the FN-shaped part of a tile open but still have that little pie-slice of a piece to insert in the inner portion of the circle. I don’t see anything on the tessellation guide that would fit, but just wanted to make sure I’m not missing something. Thanks!

    • Jo Boorer (verified owner)

Great idea. We add it to our model update list.

    Awesome, thank you!
